The Town of Olds has an opening for a full-time Aquatic Team Leader position in the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Supervisor – Aquatic Centre, the incumbent will contribute to providing overall leadership to Olds Aquatic Centre staff. The incumbent will perform lifeguard duties, pool maintenance, supervise and schedule staff, develop and implement aquatics programs for the community, and provide customer service to the patrons of the Olds Aquatics Centre and the Splashpark. During the summer, this position is also responsible for the daily balancing of the water quality and mechanical checks of the Splashpark. This position may play a key role in the fall maintenance shut down.

Qualifications required:
• Grade 12 or Equivalent
• Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor
• Standard First Aid &CPR/AED level C
• Class 5 Alberta Driver’s license
• Three-year aquatics supervisory experience in a municipal environment
Qualifications preferred:
• Aqua Fitness Instructor Certification
• Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor/Trainer
• First Aid Instructor
• Pool Operator 1 & 2

The wage range for this position is $27.81 – $31.55. Annual salary based on a 40-hour work week. This position includes health benefits and participation in the Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP). Flexibility to work shifts ranging from 5:30 am to 10:00 pm weekdays and weekends is required. A criminal record check including vulnerable sector will be required before an offer of employment is made.
